40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign

From February 14th through March 25th, daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., our community will unite with cities across America and around the world for a massive, coordinated, pro-life mobilization. This is an effort to bring together people of all faiths to pray for an end to the loss of pre-born human life and for the healing of those affected by abortion. The new PDL office next to Planned Parenthood may be open by March. If not the HCP Pro-Life Ministry representatives will be in front of PP from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. to provide support and signs. For more information E-mail the HCP Pro-Life Ministry representatives. Our Holy Child Parish Prayer Day is Saturday, March 3 and will be at the Planned Parenthood abortion facility.
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:
40 days of prayer & fasting
40 days of peaceful vigil
40 days of public witness
Project Defending Life will once again host 40 Days for Life in Albuquerque. Lives have been saved each time 40 Days for Life has been held and many more can be saved when you come out to pray. This 40 day peaceful prayer vigil will be held at two locations in Albuquerque – Planned Parenthood's abortion mill at 701 San Mateo Blvd NE, between Lomas and Central (parking is available along Marquette on the west side of San Mateo), and at the late term abortion mill, Southwest Women's Options, at 522 Lomas Blvd (between I-25 and Edith on the South side of Lomas), where thousands are killed every year.

For more information go to 40daysforlife.com/albuquerque/ or ABQ Facebook 40 Days for Life. If you go to the 40 Days for Life web page you can sign up to receive daily devotionals, readings and exciting news about 40 Days campaigns around the world! Since 2007 almost 14,000 lives saved from 40 Days for Life locations nationally and worldwide – praise God!

Join the sidewalk counselors as a prayer partner and help save lives. The counselors are at Planned Parenthood on Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and at the late term abortion mill on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

You can also just write a check with CRS Rice bowl in the memo line or place a donation on line at crsricebowl.org.

Adult Formation Classes

Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings everyone is invited to join in continued growth in formation as Catholic Christians. If you cannot attend every week come as your schedule permits.

Why We're Catholic
by Trent Horn (Catholic Answers Press)

Tuesdays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Blessed Miguel Pro Hall.
Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in San José Hall.
The classes will be reading and discussing Trent Horn's book. This book "assembles the clearest, friendliest, most helpful answers." Through it we can understand the "evidence that bolsters our belief—and brings joy." Books can be bought in class for $3.00 or can be borrowed during the weeks we will be meeting.

F.I.A.T. (Faith, Identity, Adoration, Theology)

Striving for holiness while supporting our marriage, growing in community, and strengthening our identities as Catholic wives and moms of young children. Catholics, wives, mothers of young children, residents of the East Mountains, and/or Parishioners of Holy Child Parish. We are a group of women of Holy Child Parish and surrounding areas. Find out more at our Facebook page. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter. Take the F.I.A.T. Interest Survey.

F.I.A.T, The Bible Study group for mothers with young children is growing! The need is for more "elves" to help babysit the little ones. We can only take on more children if we keep the ratio of adult to child very low. We need "permanent" elves & substitutes. Immediate need: every other Wed morning from January 24th through May 2nd. Call the office at 281-2297 for more information or if you want to volunteer.

Eucharistic Adoration Adorers Needed

"Could you not watch one hour with me?" Matthew 26:40
We like to schedule two adorers each hour in case one can't make it. If you can commit to a regular weekly hour, or would like to sign up to be on our substitute list, call 281-2297 and ask for Connie. We would like to schedule two adorers each hour in case one can't make it. Most of our hours from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. have only one adorer. Jesus would be delighted if you'd sign up as a second person on any of these hours. Ask anyone who takes a weekly hour and they will tell you of numerous blessings. Jesus cannot be outdone in generosity.

Did you know that in January 2005, we began a twelve-hour daily Adoration with two adorers every hour to celebrate the "Year of the Eucharist" proclaimed by the late Pope John Paul II? Come and experience the "True Presence" yourself. Currently the number of volunteer adorers barely covers each hour. We need more new adorers in order to have two on each hour. If you have been considering Adoration – now is the time.

Successful Diaper Drive to
Benefit PDL's Mom's Ministry

We also received 1 car seat poncho, 8 baby outfits, 10 receiving blankets, 2 large fleece blankets, 4 bottles, 1 bottle of baby lotion and a gift set containing shampoo, baby wash, lotion. Donations came from the church in Tijeras and the Mission Churches. You are a Parish that is helping Mom's Choose Life in an outstanding way!

Project Defending Life

Project Defending Life continues to provide aid and comfort to abortion-vulnerable women in unplanned and crisis pregnancies at their offices on 7009 Prospect Ave, NE in Albuquerque. They are in need of financial donations and baby items for helping the moms and their babies and to support the operations of PDL. For more detailed information or if you would like to help go to the PDL Home Page. Donations can be made from their website. You can also follow them on their Facebook page.

Project Defending Life is a Catholic-based ministry that answers the challenge of Pope John Paul II's encyclical, the Gospel of Life. They are committed to defending the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death, focused specifically on ending abortion. PDL serves the greater Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas of Northern New Mexico, within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, and collaborate with other pro-life efforts in the state of New Mexico.

Kathleen Welker, PDL Executive Director:
"During the summer, and by the grace of God, a small building just north of Planned Parenthood became vacant. We signed a lease and started the process of occupying the building in September. Fr. Daniel Williamson, CFR, is working to make modifications to the building that will become our new administrative office. Although half the size of the former location, 729 San Mateo allows us to install a small chapel, with a nice reception area, two client advocacy rooms, an admin office, and even an ADA-compliant restroom! We hope to occupy the new building early 2019, offering Mass on a regular basis at the new Holy Innocents Chapel and providing services that will allow pregnant women to save themselves and their babies."
