Thank You for your generosity!

Adult Formation Classes

Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings everyone is invited to join in continued growth in formation as Catholic Christians. If you cannot attend every week come as your schedule permits.

Why We're Catholic
by Trent Horn (Catholic Answers Press)

Tuesdays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Blessed Miguel Pro Hall. The class will be reading and discussing Trent Horn's book. This book "assembles the clearest, friendliest, most helpful answers." Through it we can understand the "evidence that bolsters our belief—and brings joy." Books can be bought in class for $3.00 or can be borrowed during the weeks we will be meeting. (No meeting on 11/21, 12/19 & 12/26)

An Introduction to the Theology of the Body

Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in San José Hall. The class will be viewing videos and discussing the study on Pope St. John Paul II's revolutionary teaching from his life of suffering, study and prayer on the Bible. It answers questions we have about the Bible and our society today. Wonderfully enlightening and entertaining while giving us a solid understanding of God's plan for us. (No meeting on 11/21, 12/19 & 12/26)

Society of St. Vincent de Paul,
Holy Child Conference

Society of St. Vincent de Paul thanks Holy Child parishioners for their generosity to the poor. This year we were able to give the St. Vincent de Paul National Disaster Relief Program $4,000 to aid the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is grateful to all of the parishioners who donate to the poor (second collection on the 1st Sunday of each month).

If you find in your heart that you would like to help with the poor, please call the Parish office for contact information or come to a meeting on the second or last Sunday , after the 10 a.m. Mass. in the large school room across from San José Hall. We have several missions, like driving those that have no other way to Dr's , groceries, etc,, visiting the lonely, finding organizations willing to donate to our cause, helping with the youth program.

Eucharistic Adoration Adorers Needed

"Could you not watch one hour with me?" Matthew 26:40
We like to schedule two adorers each hour in case one can't make it. We are currently in need of a second adorer for Monday through Friday for any of these hours between 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. To volunteer call 281-2297.

Did you know that in January 2005, we began a twelve-hour daily Adoration with two adorers every hour to celebrate the "Year of the Eucharist" proclaimed by the late Pope John Paul II? Come and experience the "True Presence" yourself.

Currently the number of adorers barely covers each hour. We need 45 new adorers in order to have two on each hour. If you have been considering Adoration – take the plunge now. There are so many blessings during and from Adoration.

Project Defending Life

Project Defending Life continues to provide aid and comfort to abortion-vulnerable women in unplanned and crisis pregnancies at their offices on 7009 Prospect Ave, NE in Albuquerque. They are in need of financial donations and baby items for helping the moms and their babies and to support the operations of PDL. For more detailed information or if you would like to help go to the PDL Home Page. Donations can be made from their website. You can also follow them on their Facebook page.

GREAT NEWS! Project Defending Life will soon open another office including the new Chapel of the Holy Innocents. The location will be at 729 San Mateo Blvd., less than a block north of their original location.

Work rebuilding the Chapel of the Holy Innocents began October 28. The PDL Chaplain, Father Daniel, is leading the rebuilding efforts. He has also sent out a request for a Tabernacle for the new Chapel at 729 San Mateo. Father Daniel would like one that is approximately 12" x 12" in the front, that he can build into the back wall. If you know of one that is available or would like to help rebuild the Chapel email the Holy Child Pro-Life Ministry for contact information.

Project Defending Life is a Catholic-based ministry that answers the challenge of Pope John Paul II's encyclical, the Gospel of Life. They are committed to defending the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death, focused specifically on ending abortion. PDL serves the greater Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas of Northern New Mexico, within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, and collaborate with other pro-life efforts in the state of New Mexico.
